The data shows that the red light cameras in Corpus Christi, TX increased collisions by 14%, injury accidents by 28%, and rear end collisions by 33%. Representative Solomon Ortiz, Jr. has introduced a Bill in the Texas Legislature to require public hearings before any camera can be installed on any state road. In a video message Representative Ortiz said
"A red light camera program shouldn’t just be a cash cow for cities, and I think that you deserve to have input on these controversial cameras."
