Bizarre Progressive Automotive X Prize Contestants

The Progressive Automotive X Prize is ten million dollars that goes to the team that achieves 100 mpg in a race simulating real-world driving conditions. The winning vehicle has to be "production capable," meet safety requirements and be suitable for production of at least 10,000 units a year.
