In the San Francisco Chronicle AP Auto Writer Dan Strumpf cites MINI USA VP Jim McDowell about his take on the MINI's poor showing in J. D Powers Initial Quality Survey. Mr. McDowell expands on his stupefying remarks on the subject that he made to CNBC. The article reads a lot like a "let me explain, what I really meant was . . ." press release. We also take solace in the fact that the top five problems reported in the overall study were wind noise, air conditioner or heater control problems, interior scuffing, audio control problems and brake noise.
