The J.D. Power and Associates 2009 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study gave a segment-level award to the MINI Cooper for the second straight year. The APEAL Study examines how gratifying a new vehicle is to own and drive, based on owner evaluations of more than 90 vehicle attributes. Based on a 1,100 point scale MINI came in twelfth overall in Name Plate ranking with a score of 817. Porsche received first place with a score of 869. The MINI Cooper was the highest ranked compact car.
