The launch of the MINI in India has been delayed since 2007. Now, according BMW’s India chief Peter Kronschnabl, MINI, at the end of the year will again "re-look" at its plans for an India launch. He said "The luxury hatchback market was not developed in India, and the investment to launch a new brand would be substantial . . ." At 2 million rupees ($41,000) for the car in one of the world's poorest countries, we can see why.
