CarandDriver.com added a Mini John Cooper Works Convertible to its long-term test fleet. However, during a top-speed run on its test track, the front lower lip spoiler detached at 144 mph and went under the wheels. The test driver kept control of the car and no harm was done beyond destroying the lip and compromising its attachment points on the front fascia. A full test report will be available once repairs are complete.
