According to Car and Driver, due to the initial problems experienced by MINI-E leesees Richard Steinberg, manager of Mini electric vehicle operations and strategy advised that MINI is considering extending the MINI-E leases to keep its customers happy and to keep the cars on the road long enough to collect the amount of data MINI needs for the experimental electric car project.
