MINI will produce 500 limited John Cooper Works WC50’s worldwide and ten will go to Australia. There is no word yet whether any will come to the U.S. It will debut at Clipsal 500 in Adelaide and the Melbourne Formula One Grand Prix, during rounds of the 2010 MINI CHALLENGE race series. The car will come in an exclusive color, Connaught Green, with a Pepper White roof and bonnet stripes. John Cooper’s signature appears on one bonnet stripe and on a facia plaque. It also includes a JCW aerodynamics package, Jet-Black JCW Cross Spoke CHALLENGE light-alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights with special black interior surface and additional driving lights with black housings, lots of carbon fibre features and special numbering on the side scuttles. The interior is Carbon Black overlaid with red touches. The full leather sports seats are black with red piping. There are also color coordinated red knee-rolls, armrests and red stitching on the floor mats, gearshift & handbrake gaiter. The facia, John Cooper Works insert on the Sports Steering Wheel and door grip handles are carbon fibre. The engine is based on the 1.6-litre four-cylinder of JCW CHALLENGE race vehicles an includes an overboost feature.
