ZerCustoms has published a Press Release from Superchips Ltd. that announces a new MCS power upgrade for the 1.6-litre turbocharged engine. The Superchips MINI Cooper S develops 195bhp and 282Nm (206lb.ft,) of torque which is 20 bhp and 26 Nm more than the standard engine. The extra power is from an updated ECU which offers 250Nm (183lb.ft) from 2,500 rpm to 5,250 rpm. The Superchips MINI Cooper S also optimizes ignition timing, fuelling and turbo boost parameters. It is available at present only from the UK, for about 445 GBP ($709 US) and comes with a 12 month, 30,000 mile warranty.
