4WheelsNews.com comments on n interview with ProDrive chairman David Richards about the Countryman WRC project for which Prodrive will be recruiting a new young team of engineers, mechanics and drivers. Richards said that the “whole idea and the whole concept” is to reproduce what they did with Subaru. He said that the team will get all the resources needed to accomplish the job. With Subaru Richards advised that Prodrive found an “enthusiastic group of people” and while it began with a car that farmers drove to market, they soon had an iconic brand that’s seen as a sports car. Rumor is that IRC champion Kris Meeke may have a seat at MINI. Richards said that he is hoping to discover the next McRae or Burns.
