As the UK MINI-E testing program reaches its mid-point this is what MINI has found:
1. An average daily trip is 8.5 miles in the MINI-E (UK average is 8.6 miles). The average daily distance traveled was 26.7 miles;
2. Only major issues that have been detected are space (for godsakes it is a "MINI") and cold weather performance;
3. It is necessary to charge the vehicles every two to three days. Most charged the vehicles overnight while they slept;
4. A majority of people (87.5%)believe public charging stations would likely be needed and appreciated, although 75% said they wouldn't absolutely require them;
5. About 44% of consumers are willing to spend as much as 33% more for an electric MINI in the future. That would make it approximately £16,000 (about $24,800 US) in the UK.
