BMW's Jim O'Donnell met with US Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood to share BMW's DRIVE IT HOME, DON'T TXT & DRIVE campaign. LaHood has made a repeated call to arms against distracted driving following the release in September by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of its 2009 Motor Vehicles Crashes report which showed that the proportion of fatalities associated with driver distraction increased from 10 percent to 16 percent between 2005 and 2009.
