The MINI Cooper SD, the SD Countryman and the SD Clubman feature a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine. The MINI Cooper SD has an all-aluminum crankcase, a turbocharger with variable intake geometry, and common-rail direct injection with solenoid-valve injectors. It is available both as a hard-top and convertible, has a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration time of 8.1 seconds, a top speed of 215 km/h (134 mph) and 65.7 mpg. The SD Cabrio is a little slower.
The MINI Cooper SD Countryman is available with both FWD and the All4 all-wheel-drive system. The MINI Cooper SD Countryman All4 does 9.4 seconds to 62 mph while the front-wheel-drive version can make the journey in 9.3 seconds.
These amazing vehicles have one thing in common. They will not be available in the US. For shame MINI.
