We're Back And Ready To Run Down To Monterey

We're back and, rain or shine, on Sunday, March 20, 2011, NorCal MINIs will be surfing into Monterey County for the Down In Monterey Run. Here is the run map. Please download or print it and bring it with you.

We will meetup at the Starbucks located at 6865 Camino Arroyo, Gilroy, CA 95020 [map] to leave promptly at 10:00 a.m. Those coming from the North, East Bay, SF and the Peninsula who wish to caravan together to the Gilroy meet up location, and have an amazing donut experience, we will meet up at 8:30 a.m. at Psycho Donuts located at 288 S. 2nd Street, San Jose, CA 95113 [map]. We will leave Psycho Donuts at 9:15 a.m. for the Gilroy meet up location.

We will run Monterey's backroads, produce stands and farms, be refreshed at the Pierce Ranch Vineyards [map] [tasting fee is $5 refundable with purchase] and, ultimately end up for a late lunch at the Monterey Cookhouse [map]. PLEASE BRING QUARTERS TO PAY FOR METERED STREET PARKING.

During this run NorCal MINIs will be providing support for the SPCA of Monterey County.  Here is what you can bring to help:

The SPCA of Monterey County has a program called “Paws to Recycle” where they turn aluminum cans and plastic bottles (with CA redemption value) into cash to help pay for medical needs of adoptable animals. Please bring cans and bottles; and/or

The SPCA's animal shelter always needs towels, blankets, kongs, tennis balls, and cat toys. Please bring these items; and/or

The SPCA accepts donations of new, unopened pet food for their Pet Food Bank for needy families in the Monterey community; and/or

The SPCA always accepts cash donations to help provide care to companion animals, horses, other barn animals, and wildlife.
