The 100th Anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 is this Memorial Day. A sideshow at the race will be "a life-sized version of the Hot Wheels toy track set" where a masked stunt driver will attempt to jump a Pro2-style truck across a gap more than 302 feet in length, to break the world record for largest leap by a four-wheeled vehicle.
Testing occurred at Inyokern Airport, north of Los Angeles, and later at the now-decommissioned Marine Corps Air Station at El Toro. The stunt is called "Fearless at 500" and is sponsored by Izod and Hot Wheels.
