The amazing Sidney Harman, co-founder and periodic owner of Harman Kardon, the company that makes the upgraded audio system for the MINI, died Tuesday night at the age of 93.

Harman served as the U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce in 1977 and 1978. As of August 2010, Harman was also the publisher of Newsweek.
