A Preview Of Rally Germany

MINIMotorsport previews the Rally Germany course and stages from Dani Sardo's and Kris Meeke's perspectives. There are 19 stages. The article points out:that there are:
Six technically challenging special stages on Friday, all held in the Mosel region surrounding Trier, follow on from Shakedown and Thursday’s ceremonial start. Innumerable sections with tight corners, many requiring the drivers to perform full 360 degree changes in direction without valuable time loss, await the crews.
Here's what happens on day two:
On the second day the going gets faster but rockier, with closed public roads and the Baumholder military ranges, with their infamous ‘hinkelsteins’, being on the schedule. "On the long straights we are able to go full throttle," says Kris. "However, on the military tank ranges there are lots of these enormous concrete blocks, which are designed to keep tanks on the straight and narrow. As the big stones can actually stop a tank, I certainly don’t intend hitting them with a rally car!"
The third day appears to be the MINI WRC Team's favorite:
Dani is particularly looking forward to a return to the vineyards on the third day. "Because the roads are tight, yet fast," he explains. Kris, too, is relishing Day 3 of Rallye Deutschland. "The route is mainly asphalt, which makes it pleasant," he says. "However, the weather can change quickly, so we have to be prepared for everything." From a spectator perspective the third day of the rally offers particular highlights. In addition to the two Dhrontal tests (Stages 15 and 17), which offer easy access and good viewing points of the vineyards, the Power Stage finale at the Porta Nigra (Circus Maximus) is a sight not to be missed.
