autoevolution claims the next generation BMW X1, will debut some time in 2015, together with the X2 which will be sold as a coupe. Both will actually be built on the UKL platform that will first be used by the 2013 MINI Cooper and the BMW 1-Series Gran Turismo, both front-wheel drive cars. It claims that the "architecture will be stretched and will get a Haldex all-wheel drive system for the X1 as well as the next MINI Countryman."
