About the Raising Cane's chain:

Some people dream of being astronauts, some people want to be president. Todd Graves, the Founder, dreamed of opening an amazing Chicken Finger Restaurant.

His dream soon became his passion. Even though his business plan received the lowest grade in the class and every bank he met with told him his idea wouldn't work, he was more determined than ever. Undeterred, he set off on a course to earn the money himself, working 90-hour weeks in an oil refinery in Los Angeles and commercial fishing in Alaska. It was hard and sometimes dangerous work, but it paid off.

With his hard-earned money and a little help from the friends he made along the way, he began building the first Raising Cane's at the North Gates of LSU in Baton Rouge. On August 28th, 1996, the first location opened. It was the start of Todd’s commitment to serve craveable Chicken Finger meals and being actively involved in the Community.
