A Very Cool $500 Homemade EV

Check out this balanced-over-batteries homemade electric car. It tilts up to 45 degrees when steered.

It was built from found and reused components such as differentials from Pintos, brakes from Yamaha bikes, and the steering mechanism from a helicopter's tail rotor box. It has an electric motor for each wheel and mimics two gears by switching voltages.

Retired auto mechanic Robert Lange built it in his backyard for about $500.
