A Problem With Those Energy Efficient LED Traffic Lights

Somebody forgot to tell cold weather municipalities that LEDs do not emit heat. As a consequence, when you replace a traffic light with LEDs in, say, Buffalo, NY, in the wintertime, the snow and ice freeze over the lights. The result - expensive, labor intensive maintenance and major traffic accidents.
