Electric vehicles generate little waste heat so they need an additional source to provide heat for defrosting the windshields and heating the interior. Therefore, BorgWarner has produced a new generation electric cabin heater that will be connected to the MINI E's 400 volt electrical system and installed in the air conditioning system. The system manages to reach an output of 3,000 watts to warm the cabin and defrost windshields.
