Get Ready For The MINI Three Cylinder Engine

The new N37 three cylinder engine is bound to be placed in the front wheel drive BMW 1 Series and the F56 MINI. The engine is said to produce about 155 hp and achieves "the magical 95g/km of CO2 emissions that is so essential for the EU market" according to MotoringFile.

BMW Development boss Klaus Draeger insists the three cylinder engine is not being produced as a cost-cutting measure. Draeger told Autocar

“The three-cylinder engines are not cheap. They are every bit as hi-tech as our four and six-cylinder engines.”
