2006 MINI GP Featured At Vail Wheels & Wings Show


The Vail Daily reports:
The 2011 Vail Automotive Classic's Wheels & Wings Show takes place Sept. 10 at the Vail Valley Jet Center in Gypsum and Sept. 11 in the streets of Vail.

Among the featured vehicles at the show is a 2006 Mini Cooper GP. Details include:

• 218 horsepower, 180 foot-pounds of torque. The fastest Mini ever produced at 1 to 60 mph in under 6.5 seconds.

• Reaches top speed of just under 150 mph due in part to unique design elements such as the carbon fiber rear wing and fenders, shaving door handles.

• GP only available in 2006, the quasi-race prepped GP was hand finished by Bertone in Italy.

• Limited edition of only 415 delivered to the U.S. market.

• Originally sold for approximately $38,286.

• Owner is currently making further modifications with the goal of a speed run at the Bonneville Salt Flats in September 2012
