That is the contention of
CNNMoney in a photo gallery of vehicles that it asserts have "
crazy colors". About the MINI it writes:
Mini is the grandfather of nutty paint jobs on little cars. Dipping into Mini history, the modern Mini Cooper -- and all its subsequent variants, including the Mini Cooper Coupe, shown here -- have been available with roofs that are different colors from the bodies. That's not to mention racing stripes, flag patterns and fancy side mirror decorations. Minis are the origianl [sic] non-conformist small car. They don't even conform to each other. Just try finding two exactly alike.
