UPI.com reports that cataract surgery in older adults results in a corresponding reduction in auto crashes according to Dr. Jonathon Ng at the Curtin University in Bentley, Australia, and the Eye & Vision Epidemiology Research Group and colleagues who studied accident rates for Western Australian residents before and after cataract surgery on the first eye. Thye discovered that the surgery reduced accident frequency by 12.6%.
