VW Testing Ice And Fog-Free Windshields

VW is testing a windshield system that automatically defrosts and defogs without heat or antifreeze washing fluid. The idea is to treat the windshield with a protective coating of a thin layer of indium tin oxide which is supposed to prevent heat from radiating upwards so the glass is no longer cooled and, thus, frosting and condensation do not occur.
