Annual Holiday Party & Run Recap

Hi Everyone,

We had a fun time at the PJ & Pancakes breakfast at East Bay MINIs on December 7. 2019.  Thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed the gathering.  December is always such a busy time, but still fun to get together and just look back over our past year.  I got to meet some new members and hangout with long time members too.

We filled the Toys for Toys box for East Bay and donated $250 to Valley Humane Society.

The rain held of for a small group of us who took the drive out to the San Joaquin River National Wildlife Refuge and the Migratory Bird Viewing Platform.  The road over Patterson Pass was great.  A few speed humps as we went through Livermore and out by the Lawrence Livermore Lab, but after that it was clear for the MINI following the Malibu.  HAHA.

Amazingly, as I was packing up my car with the last supplies I used for the breakfast, the rain started pouring down. Perfect timing!

Thanks again for coming,
Christine & Michael Toibin

Meeting Location

Meeting Time/Departure Time (NOTE NEW MEETING TIME)

This run will be twisty and scenic, starting slowly through the town of Woodside, up Kings Mountain Road (beware of groups of bicyclists who dislike groups of cars!) to Skyline.

We'll regroup in the lot as we cross over Skyline and then head south past the iconic Alice's restaurant (you can gawk at all the fancy cars and bikes, but we're not stopping) and turn right down La Honda. We'll take a right on Pescadero Creek and follow that into the town of Pescadero for a short break.

We'll regroup by the bridge on Stage Road and follow that to the end, where we'll turn right on Hwy 1 North and make our way to Moss Beach Distillery. We have made reservations now for 12:30 and people can choose from light fare OR the Sunday brunch menu. Please confirm whether you'll join us for lunch or not by January 10th.

And if they want to bring dogs, they can get their own table outside on the patio (they should make their own reservations then)

November 2019 Point Reyes Stinson Beach Recap

Your Hosts: Gordon and Alison Lee

We met at the Marina Green in San Francisco, and we then proceeded to cross the Golden Gate bridge in the fog. Eight minis followed the route to the regroup point, to the backroads in Mill Valley, and finally to MINI of Marin successfully. We were greeted by the wonderful staff at the dealership and they had setup breakfast; bagels, fresh fruit, and coffee for all of our NorCal members. We distributed 30 goodie bags complimentary from MINI of Marin for all of our members and we had received positive responses in the organization of our event.

Leaving to Point Reyes, we were separated by countless traffic lights in San Anselmo. Although, everyone managed to catch up to a line of 25 cars. We drove on the twisties through the forest to Point Reyes and three NorCal members had won official MINI shirts and one from the British car show.

We had left Point Reyes towards South on Highway 1 passing through Stinson Beach to Corte Madera Town Center for our lunch at Flores. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the wonderful lunch. A great day was had by all. And all members are looking forward to attend the next event; namely our Annual Holiday party on Saturday December 7th!
