Over the Hills and Far Away Run - October 11/12/13, 2019

Hi Everyone,

The "Over the Hills and Far Away" Run is planned as a two night run, leaving from Livermore in the late afternoon on Friday, stopping in Sonora overnight before continuing over the hills Saturday morning.

While your hosts, Steve & Tina Sandke finalize the details on the route and the rest of the run, you can book your hotels. As always, if you’re not sure you’re coming, review the hotel cancellation policies carefully. Here are a few suggestions for each night:

Meeting Time/Departure Time:

After leaving the Salinas Starbucks we will head west towards Monterey on Highway 68, we will merge onto Highway 1 south and then take exit 399A for CA-68 toward Pacific Grove/Pebble Beach, keep left to continue toward 17 Mile Drive. 

17 Mile Drive - entrance fee, per car is $10.50 - please have exact change

Very Important! 

We are going to go clockwise around 17 Mile Drive which is the opposite way if you were to follow the numbered points of interest. We will make 15 minute stops at #10 Cypress Point Lookout and then #7 Bird Rock, which has restroom facilities. We will continue on 17 Mile Drive back to the Carmel gate and head back towards Monterey on Highway 1 taking the exit for Highway 68 towards Salinas. 

We will take the Spreckels Blvd exit and stop for a quick photo opportunity before heading to lunch at T and A Café. Lunch will be a buffet with some vegetarian options for $25.00 including dessert, soft drinks, tax and tip included.

NOTE: Expected arrival at the T and A Cafe is 1:00pm with the ANNUAL MEETING beginning at 2:00pm.

A great idea to review the route before arrival. Some printed copies will be provided as needed.

Lunch Note: 

You are NOT required to purchase and eat lunch with the club at T & A Cafe,  you can arrive at 2pm for just the annual meeting, however, you still need to RSVP for the run. There will be NO opportunity to purchase lunch on the day of the meeting.  Lunch tickets must be pre-purchased at time of RSVP if you choose to eat lunch with the club. (You will NOT receive a lunch 'ticket' prior to the day of the run.)

Please RSVP by Tuesday August 27 and prepay for lunch on MotorsportReg. It is extremely important we get an accurate headcount for lunch in advance.  

There is a HARD deadline to RSVP and purchase lunch tickets by 5pm on August 27, 2019.  The club has to pay the restaurant prior to our meeting date of September 8, 2019.

Lunch is $25 per person.

  • Pasta salad with sundried tomatoes & basil
  • Tuscan grilled chicken thighs, sundried tomato relish
  • Forrest mushroom pilaf
  • Fresh baked bread and butter

  • For a membership of a couple, only one (1) of you need to RSVP via MSR, include the other person on your account as ONE guest, if they are coming with you.

Nominations for 2020 Officers, Directors & Runs

Hi Members, 

Please check your email for the link to this year's nominations form for 2020 Officers, Directors and Runs.  
  • You can nominate yourself, a friend or family member to be on the Board of Directors or hold one of the club’s officer positions (President, Vice-President, Treasurer/Financial, Secretary/Membership and Social Media/Communication officer).
  • All Officers and Directors are expected to lead at least 1 (one) run during the year. 
  • If a nomination is accepted, those individuals who the club votes for should be familiar with the NorCal MINIs Constitution & Bylaws.
  • Nominee(s) must be a current 2019 NorCal MINI's member. All 2019 Directors are on the ballot for re-election.
  • Partners included in a single membership must have their own MotorSportReg account to make nominations or vote separately from main member. If partners do not choose to have their own MSR account, that membership will only get 1 vote.
  • All board of directors meetings are held through email, in-person meetings, or during a run.

Nominations will be accepted from August 1st to August 15th, 2019.

Your nominations and run ideas must be made online before August 15th 2019 in order to appear on the September annual election ballot.

The annual meeting will take place on September 8, 2019.

Online Annual election voting will begin August 18th 2019 and closes midnight PST September 7th 2019. In-person voting and results will happen on the day of the Annual meeting (September 8, 2019).
