The Smithsonian Institution is celebrating 75 years of auto safety with a show of safety items and related devices donated by automakers and regulators. The costumes of crash test dummies Vince and Larry will be on display alongside a number of different crash test dummies, three point seatbelts and energy-absorbing steering columns. If you didn't know Dr. Straith was a Detroit plastic surgeon who pioneered the padded dashboard and other auto safety innovations.
