Oxford Mail reports that MINI is in talks with labor unions over working Saturdays at the Oxford, U.K. Cowley MINI Plant. Because of increased demand for MINIs and the release of the MINI Roadster. The Saturday shift is operating every week rather than just occasionally as it did last year. According to the article,
Plant convenor Chris Bond said: “Because we have increased volumes we are going to have to work every Saturday until March.
“We are trying to examine the shift pattern to alleviate problems.”
