Fix For 2011 And 2012 MINI Countryman Clutches

For those of you who have a  MINI Countryman with a manual transmission that was manufactured in 2011 or 2012,  MINI USA has a fix for the terrible feel of your clutch engagement point which has been fitted on November 2012 and later Countryman and Paceman vehicles.  Whether current owners will get the fix for free has not been addressed by MINI.  Rather, the current recommendation is to bring it to the attention of your dealer and see if MINI USA will handle the issue. Here's MINI USA's "official statement" according to MotoringFile:
As part of the continual refinement and optimization of MINI vehicles, we have improved the take-off convenience and performance of all our MINI Countryman clutches by implementing some software updates as well as changing the clutch facing material to improve the feeling of the clutch engagement. We are sure that these changes will even further improve the convenience of our MINI Countryman models, and will be recognized and appreciated by our customers. These changes coincide with the start of production of our MINI John Cooper Works Countryman as of November 2012.
