MotoringFile reports MINI USA is releasing a free roadeside assistance smartphone application this Thursday. The Application allows you to set up a profile that will store your VIN, Model & Model Year, upload a picture of your MINI, give it a nickname. You can select a service such as; jump start, tire change, fuel, lock out assistance, tow for mechanical reason, or accident. Once you select a service hit the call button and you will be connected with Roadside Assistance. The Application pushes all of the data to Roadside Assistance with, if you choose, the latitude and longitude of your current location. Once you have completed the call a screen provides service details including reference number, type of service requested, the provider selected to provide the service, and his or her estimated time of arrival.
On Thursday the application will be available on the iPhone (all versions) and the Blackberry Bold/Curve that is offered by AT&T, Alltel, T-Mobile, TracFone.
