But don't you North Americans worry. According to Australian site The Motor Report says MINI is recalling R60 diesel MINI Countryman and Paceman models because:

. . . MINI Countryman and Paceman models may suffer from moisture build up in the electric power steering unit, causing a fire in extreme cases.

No information has been provided on why gasoline powered MINIs have not been included in this recall.

NORCAL MINIS is open to all and ownership of any MINI model car is encouraged, but not required.

Payment of annual dues is a prerequisite to membership. Membership begins on date dues are received by the club Treasurer and expire on December 31st of the same year.

New members are $35

Renewals are $25, during open enrollment period only otherwise the cost is $35

Members must be at least 18 years of age with legal rights to sign any event disclaimers. One spouse or significant other, per paid membership is considered a member with all the rights and privileges of Club membership.
