Pacific Coast Dream Machines


NorCal MINIs is going to Pacific Dream Machines on Sunday, April 25, 2010. The event features 2,000 magnificent driving, flying and working machines from the 20th and 21st centuries. The world's coolest cars of every era and style, model-T fire engines, vintage buses, custom motorcycles, tricked out trucks, sleek streamliners, one-of-a-kind antique engines and tractors and historic military aircraft will be among the mesmerizing displays. The 20th annual show takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Half Moon Bay Airport. The show benefits the Coastside Adult Day Health Center. Spectator admission is $20 for adults, $10 for age 11-17 and 65+, and free for kids age 10 and under. Tickets are available at the gate only. On Sunday, May 23, 2010, NorCal MINIs will attend the Oakland Athletics v. San Francisco Giants game at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. We will arrive at 10:00 a.m. for a BYOB tailgate in the parking lot. The game starts at 1:05 p.m.Tickets are $12.00 ($10.00 ticket plus $2.00 Paypal charge) and must be purchased before May 1, 2010. NorCal MINIs' Hearst Castle Overnight


NorCal MINIs Hearst Castle Overnight is Saturday June 12 through Sun., June 13, 2010, A Saturday morning run down Highway 1 through Big Sur to Cambria; a night at the San Simeon Pines Seaside Resort; a tour of Hearst Castle on Sunday morning, and a run home via Highway 101 after a late lunch in Paso Robles. Sound like fun? We've made it easy to participate but space is limited. This opportunity is first being offered to 2010 NorCal MINIs' members. Spots that remain after April 30, 2010 will be made available to the greater MINI community on a first come first served basis. Members will receive an email invitation. ITINERARY


Saturday, June 12, 2010


We will meet at 8:00 a.m. in the parking lot in front of Whole Foods at 800 Del Monte Center, Monterey, CA.  (Please note that the Google Map location for 800 Del Monte Center is incorrect. Exit Highway 1 S at Soledad Dr./Munras Ave. exit. Merge right onto Munras Ave. and make the first right on Del Monte Center and the parking lot is on the right.)

8:30 a.m. - Depart Del Monte Center - Bring a Picnic Lunch. We will stop at one of the State Day Use Areas in Southern Big Sur, Mill Creek or Sand Dollar Beach, for a leisurely lunch after conquering most of the Big Sur twisties.

3:00 p.m. - Check-in at the San Simeon Pines Seaside Resort This is a quaint older resort on Cambria's Moonstone Beach with fireplaces, a heated pool, a private beach and a very small par 3 golf course (Bring a 7, 9, wedge and putter. That's all the clubs you will need to play.) We have reserved a block of 15 king bed with Fireplace rooms at the special rate of $120/night, not including tax (with tax $133.20). NO PETS PERMITTED.

9:45 a.m. - Depart Resort for Hearst Castle.

10:10 a.m. - Arrive Hearst Castle.

10:30 a.m. - Hearst Castle Tour. We have reserved for a group of 30 the 10:30 a.m. tour (this requires us to be there by 10:10 a.m.) The tour starts with a 40 minute film and is followed by a 55 minute walking tour that starts at 11:10 a.m., covers approximately 2/3 miles and a total of 170 stairsteps, and is complete at 1:05 p.m. For those with accessibility issues, an accessibly designed tour will start at after the movie at 11:20 a.m. and complete at about 1:20 p.m. If you will need to book the accessibility tour make sure you tell us when you pay for your reservation. We were able to get the following discounted group prices for the tour:

1:30 p.m. - Leave Hearst Castle
