Keyless Remote Entry Not Just For Owners Anymore

Apparently those remote entry wireless key fobs that open car doors and start your car from a distance are easily hacked. Researchers from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology borrowed ten such wireless remotes from various manufacturers and were able to unlock and start all of their test vehicles by simple capture, amplification and transmission of the key fob's radio signals - and the owners didn't even know they had been hacked. The systems used to break in were very economical. The most expensive one was about $1,000.
