The variety of MINI vehicles on the rally is comparable to the cultural diversity found in Baltimore, as nearly one-third of its properties are listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. To escape the British in 1776, Congress hastily moved into a Baltimore tavern for two months, thus making Baltimore effectively the second capital of the United States. Home of Fort McHenry and the birthplace of "The Star Spangled Banner," Edgar Allan Poe, Frederick Douglas and independent filmmaker John Waters have all called this city home. The legendary “Bambino,” Babe Ruth got his start here as an Orioles^TM minor-league pitcher in 1914.
