MTTS2016 - Day 5: Pittsburgh to Detroit

Wednesday, July 13

DAY 5 - DETROIT, MICHIGAN.

Motor on to “Motor City.” Detroit is a hub of middle-American diversity. Originally founded by French explorers in 1701, Detroit was once compared to Paris because of its scenic parks and beautiful architecture. It served as a key stop for refugee slaves escaping into Canada via the Underground Railroad. It was also a major entry point for Canadian spirits during the prohibition in the 1920s. Whether you dig the Motown groove or revel in the design of the first horseless carriage, you will be intrigued by this city that put the world on wheels.

We had a great send-off from Baltimore.  Police escort with a blocked expressway out of the Lot H at Camden Yards.

We met at the bus for our group photo and were videotaped by MINIUSA.  I hope we make the highlight video.

Tomorrow we're on to Detroit.
