MINI Standard OEM Runflats To Be Discontinued And More!!!

We reported in the past that the color Mellow Yellow has been discontinued for the 2010 MINI. the Switchback now tells us Pure Silver Metallic will no longer be available for the MINI Cooper S. New colors will also be introduced - Horizon Blue and Sparkling Silver. Hot Chocolate and Interchange Yellow will now be available for the Clubman and Convertible, respectively.

Surprisingly, MINI is discontinuing standard run-flat tires for all models. Instead, MINIs will come with the “MINI Mobility System” (air compressor and sealant kit). Run flats will be an option, but only for vehicles with 16″ wheels and above, and at additional cost.

The limited slip differential will be deleted as an option, but the premium Harman/Kardon sound system returns as the top optional OEM sound system. The backs of the MINI sports seats will be cloth instead of plastic. Seat memory will work with the seat bottom but not with the backrest as it does on earlier models. New interior colors and coverings will also be available.

The MINI Clubman rear split doors will no longer feature puddle lights, and the Storage Compartment pack will come with two separating boot nets as opposed to three. In addition, the rear parcel shelf in hatchback MINIs will be held in place with not two, but one “ball and string” retaining cord.
