A test was administered by GMAC Insurance that asked drivers 20 questions taken from their local DMV's written driving test. Approximately 20 percent of currently licensed drivers failed the test. The average score was a dismal 76.2%. Male drivers scored better than female drivers. New York drivers ranked worst with an average score of 70%. Kansas motorists ranked highest at 82.3%.
