Indy 500 Philately

A new commemorative postage stamp, issued on the first day of qualifying for the Indy 500, shows Ray Harroun's winning Marmon “Wasp,” the distinctive yellow-and-black car he personally designed and drove to victory in the first Indy 500 in 1911.

The Marmon is returning to Indy for race day, when it is scheduled to lead a heritage rally of past race winners.
